Meet Our Pastor

Pastor Larry Eric Hentz is a dedicated servant of the LORD and the eldest of two sons born to the late Lettie Louise and Lewis William Hentz. He is happily married to First Lady Francina F. Hentz, and they reside in Fort Washington, Maryland. Together, they have two young adult children, Devin and Dana.

In November 2023, Rev. Larry E. Hentz was called to serve as the Pastor-Elect for Freedom Way Missionary Baptist Church in Capitol Heights, MD. He was officially installed as the church's second Pastor on Saturday, March 2, 2024.

Pastor Hentz has a distinguished history of leadership and education within the Baptist community. He has served as the Board President for the District of Columbia Baptist Convention and as a Lead Instructor for its Annual Gathering. Additionally, he has been a Lead Instructor for the Baptist Educational Congress for the District of Columbia and the Potomac River Baptist Association Fall Education Congress. Pastor Hentz has pursued continuing education in Homiletics and minister training at prestigious institutions, including Princeton University School of Divinity, Howard University School of Divinity, and Dallas Theological Seminary.
