Our Beliefs
At Freedom Way Missionary Baptist Church, our core beliefs are rooted in the essence of Christianity as summarized in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4: “Jesus died for our sins, was buried, was resurrected, and thereby offers salvation to all who will receive Him in faith.” Our goal is to cultivate a closer walk with GOD, made possible through the work of Jesus Christ and the ministry of the Holy Spirit.
-
We believe the Bible is inspired and “GOD-breathed” (2 Timothy 3:16), serving as the final authority in all matters of faith and practice.
-
“We believe in one GOD who exists in three persons: the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit.”
(1 John 5:7). -
We believe that mankind was created to have a relationship with GOD, but sin separates us from Him. (Romans 3:23; 5:12).
-
We believe that Jesus Christ walked this earth, fully GOD and fully man (Philippians 2:6-11). He died on the cross, was buried, rose again, and is now at the right hand of the Father, making intercession for believers forever (Hebrews 7:25). His death on the cross paid the sin debt owed by all people, restoring our broken relationship with GOD (Hebrews 9:11-14; 10:10; Romans 5:8; 6:23).
-
We believe that to be saved and granted entrance into heaven, one must place their faith entirely in the finished work of Christ on the cross. Believing that Christ died in our place, paid the price for our sins, and rose again is the key to salvation. There is nothing we can do to earn salvation; it is a gift of grace through faith.
